Reflexive’s Richochet series are truly great, so as a loyal fan I bought The Great Tree. Not real enthusiastic about it, though.

Gameplay doesn’t seem related to the story
(generally I don’t feel the need for stories
    anyway).

Gameplay gives me a headache after a while. Screens are dark and the gotcha things are hard to concentrate on. Most games I’m happy to play a failed screen over and over until I get it, but here I get sick and tired of being nabbed by a stinging toad or something.

And, the idea of a tree being nourished by pollen is so botanically weird that it keeps bugging me.
Why couldn’t they have had it needing water, or fertilizer, or sunshine? Or if it’s a cannibal tree - which I don’t think exists - feed it insects.

LOVED this game!!!!!!!!!! I did think the end was VERY anti-climactic. With everything that went into it, the story (which I loved) the graphics, etc, there should have been something GEART happen to the Great Tree!, not just a cartoon tree with a fiew fairy lights buzzing around. After spending 4 straight hours, doing all 100 levels, I really expected a “bang” of an ending. Also, the game kept freezing up. Sometimes there were no “bad-guy” effects at all, all I could do was pick up pollen. Sometimes it was only one level, but last time it was the whole LAST 15 levels, I just turned it off!
I would really like to see a Great Tree II with everything fixed and maybe another story.
